DISASTER MANAGEMENT

The TSG Charitable Foundation had implemented several relief programs since the beginning of April, 2020 to fight against COVID-19. It has extended helping hands to all over the South Andaman & North & Middle Andaman District. The relief kit provided by TSG Charitable Foundation included essential commodities needed to survive including ration items, medicines etc. More than 10,000 families got benefitted through this relief kit distribution. The programmes were carried out with the support & coordination of District Administration. The volunteers of TSG Charitable Foundation reached door to door & delivered essential commodities to the needy peoples which reduced their hardships as there were travel restriction imposed in entire Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

EDUCATION

The Free coaching class inauguration was key motto to help the job aspirants of the Andaman & Nicobar Islands for the Group C examination announced to fill up 2,520 job vacancies in A&N Islands. Shri. TSG Bhasker announced all possible support on behalf of TSG Charitable Foundation for the infrastructure required in the smooth functioning of the coaching classes with an aim to prepare candidates for appearing in the Group C examination. The Chairman of TSG Charitable Foundation, Shri. TSG Bhasker who is well known for his philanthropic activities launched 8 free coaching centres in different parts of A&N Islands including Bathubasti, Namunaghar, Tushnabad, Ferrargunj, Ograbraj, Rangat, Mayabunder and Diglipur and helped the students who were deprived of educational facility due to heavy fees in private coaching centres & trasportation issues.

YOUTH DEVELOPMENT

TSG Charitable Foundation has been helping the youths of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to develop their skills and healthy physique. It encouraged the youths to stay away from harmful habits like consumption of Drugs and Alcohol by engaging them in sports. It also has organized several sports activities in different parts of the Islands and has provided sports equipment to the youths while also gave donations to several youth clubs/organizations for conducting and promoting the sports. On the occasion of National Sports Day, the TSG Charitable Foundation organized many mega sports events such as Volleyball Tournament and Badminton Tournament to encourage the youths to participate in sports and pay tribute to the sports icon Major Dhyan Chand.

HEALTH CARE

Since the Andaman & Nicobar Islands are not having any specialized medical treatment facilities in the existing hospital & primary health centers, the patients are generally referred to the mainland (Chennai & Kolkata) for major treatments. It is impossible for the poor patient who is already suffering for their livelihood to purchase the flight ticket by paying high fare & go to the mainland for medical treatment. Hence, the TSG Charitable Foundation provides free air tickets to the patients & their attendants after seeing their financial status. So, far more than 200 patients have been given free by the Foundation. Apart from this, the TSG Charitable Foundation also has volunteers who provide medical assistance & help the patients with medical procedures inside the hospitals.

COVID-19 RELIEF KIT DISTRIBUTION

The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic and restrictions imposed in the movement had jeopardized the lives and livelihoods of millions of marginalized communities across the country. To diminish the misery of the suffering and to deliver the services to the marginalized groups and support the below poverty line (BPL) communities who were battling against the COVID-19 Pandemic in Andaman & Nicobar Islands, the TSG Charitable Foundation had implemented several relief response programs since the beginning of April, 2020. The total relief response was given for about 1 year and it included activities like distribution of ration kits, masks, sanitizers, medicines and other essential commodities.

AIRLIFTING OF STRANDED MIGRANTS

During the COVID-19 Pandemic, hundreds of migrant workers belonging to Bihar, Orissa, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu who were working in different parts of Andaman & Nicobar Islands wanted to return back to their home state as they were left jobless and were out of money to live in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. By seeing their pathetic condition, the Chairman of TSG Charitable Foundation was moved with compassion and helped them in reaching their homes at the cost of TSG Charitable Foundation. The Foundation provided them with Flight and Ship tickets to travel back to their hometowns. The Foundation was also in regular touch with the workers and ensured that they reached their homes safely.

FACE MASK SUPPLY DURING COVID-19

In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, the wearing of facial masks were mandatory in entire A&N Islands and has become indispensable to curb the spread of the Corona Virus. Sadly many people living in the rural areas faced numerous difficulties in accessing the personal protective due to the unavailability of masks in their villages and movement restrictions due to which they were unable to travel to City for buying face masks. Also the high market price of the face mask was a barrier for the poor people to purchase the masks. Seeing the gravity of the issue, the TSG Charitable Foundation provided masks to the needy people in every villages and ensured their safety.

DISTRIBUTION OF IMMUNE BOOSTER

KAADA (Kasayam) the traditional and natural Immune booster was distributed among the patients admitted in the COVID Ward of G.B. Pant Hospital and other private hospitals. It was also distributed among the Medical staffs, Police personnel of Port Blair city who were on COVID duty on daily basis for a period of 20 days. The Immune Booster shown good results on the patients and it helped many patients to recover soon. TSG Charitable Foundation also provided Chicken/Mutton soups along with ayurvedic and homeopathy medicines to the COVID affected patients. These immune boosters acted as an protection against COVID-19 along with medicines provided by hospitals.

COLD MORTUARY BOX DONATED TO  PHC

Considering the growing demand of Cold Mortuary Box in Tushnabad Panchayat, the TSG Charitable Foundation donated a Cold Mortuary Box in PHC Tushnabad to help the needy families to preserve the dead body of the departed person till their near and dear ones arrive from mainland to attend the funeral ceremony. The cold box was handed over by Shri. TSG Bhasker to the Medical Officer of PHC in the presence of local PRI Members, patients, hospital staffs and villagers. The Cold Mortuary box will not only cater the needs of the people of Tushnabad but also the needs of the nearby villages.

RELIEF RESPONSE AT ORPHANAGE

During the COVID-19 pandemic, several children homes in Port Blair were affected badly and left with much financial hardships. This had a negative psychological impact on the small childrens who were mostly homeless, parentless, poor and needy. Considering this issue, the management of a childrens home approached TSG Charitable Foundation for help and we helped by providing dry ration to the orphanage for about one month. During these challenging times, the TSG Charitable Foundation was able to provide necessary help to the childrens with the coordination and support of local social workers. This brought back happiness in the faces of the childrens.

DISTRIBUTION OF RATION KIT IN CITY

In continuation of the relief operations carried out by TSG Charitable Foundation, a special ration kit distribution event took place to help out the Auto, Jeep and Taxi Drivers of Port Blair. The Dry Ration Kits were distributed in the august presence of Deputy Commissioner of South Andaman Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Sub Divisional Magistrate, South Andaman Shri. Hari Kallikkat, IAS and Assistant Commissioner Smti. Yashaswini. The kits were distributed to the needy Tourist Taxi & Auto Drivers since due to lockdown no tourists were coming to A&N Islands and their work were totally shut down leaving them behind in financial hardships to meets families daily needs.

RO PLANT DONATED TO PHC

The question of safe drinking water was the biggest concern of the patients, attendants and staffs of PHC Hut Bay who had to visit the heath centre on regular basis. Considering several requests received from the patients and the concerned members of the hospital management, the TSG Charitable Foundation came forward and graciously provided Reverse Osmosis (RO) water plant for free of cost at the Primary Health center (PHC) Hut Bay in Little Andaman and in G.B.Pant Hospital at Port Blair as part of its commitment to improve the health sector in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Along with installing RO Plant, the TSG Foundation also takes care of its maintenance on regular intervals.

LAUNCHING OF FREE COACHING CLASSES

The Free coaching classes were inaugurated with a key motto to help the job aspirants of A&N Islander for passing the Group C examination conducted to fill up 2,520 job vacancies in A&N Islands. Shri. TSG Bhasker announced all possible support on behalf of TSG Charitable Foundation. He started 8 free coaching centres across A&N Islands with the best infrastructure facility available for the smooth functioning of the coaching class. This philanthropic activity helped the poor students to gain knowledge for free of cost and at their doorstep. The coaching classes were started in Bathubasti, Namunaghar, Tushnabad, Ograbraj, Ferrargunj, Rangat, Mayabunder and Diglipur.

REGULAR VISIT TO HOSPITALS

The Founder and Chairman of TSG Charitable Foundation Shri. TSG Bhasker regularly visits the hospitals and distributes fruits and nutritional kits to the poor and needy patients for improving their health condition and for their faster healing. These activities are undertaken on important days such as Diwali, Independence Day, Gandhi Jayanti etc. to celebrate the day with the patients. Shri. TSG Bhasker's visit makes the patients feel comforted as they feel that there is some one out of their family who has a compassion on their sufferings. He also hears their grievances and tries to solve those issues. The TSG Charitable Foundation also takes care of the necessities to run a medical efficiently and helps patients with necessary medical assistance.

PROVIDING FLIGHT TICKETS TO PATIENTS

Since the Andaman & Nicobar Islands do not have specialized medical treatment facilities in the existing hospitals and primary health centers, the patients are generally referred to mainland for major treatment. The poor patients who are already suffering for their livelihood & to meet their daily needs feels it difficult to purchase the flight tickets by spending a huge amount & go to the mainland for their treatment. By seeing this issue, the Chairman of TSG Charitable decided to help the patients. The Foundation started provided free flight tickets to the patients. Many times the airfares were too high but TSG Charitable Foundation never moved away from its commitment of helping the patients.

ORGANIZING VOLLEY BALL TOURNAMENT

Several sports activities and tournaments have been organized by TSG Charitable Foundation from time to time to promote sports in the Islands and has been helping the youths of the Islands to develop their skills and healthy physique. The motto behind organizing such event is to help the youngster to stay away from the unwanted habits like drugs and alcohol. Out of the several sports events, the sports event organized on the day of 'National Sports Day' was one of the biggest event conducted by TSG Charitable Foundation. To celebration the day, the Foundation organized Vollyball Tournaments in Haddo, Dairy Farm, Wimberligunj and Bambooflat to pay tribute to the sports icon Major Dhyan Chand.

SPONSORING CHESS TOURNAMENT

Shri. TSG Bhasker being the Patron and Former President of Andaman and Nicobar Chess Association, has been sponsoring several chess tournaments to facilitate the chess players of A&N Islands and to give them a platform nationwide. In August 2023, the Inaugural Ceremony of All India FIDE Rated Chess Tournament was organized in Port Blair at TSG Grand and Shri. TSG Bhasker had sponsored the said event and provided his Hotel for free of cost for the conduct of tournament which was held for 4 days. This was the first time that a FIDE rated competition was held in Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Participants from around 22 states arrived in the Islands and were provided all facilites by Shri. TSG Bhasker.

PROMOTING TABLE TENNIS & BADMINTON

A mind blowing Table Tennis and Badminton Tournament was organized by TSG Charitable Foundation at Multipurpose Indoor Stadium, Wimberligunj on 29th August, 2023 to commemorate the occasion of 'National Sports Day". It was great to see a large number of girls participating in the sports event. The PRI's and Social Workers of the area also attended the event. Shri. TSG Bhasker who was invited as the Chief Guest overseen the performance of youths and expressed his happiness on the enthralling skills of youths. He encourage the youths to play games with sportsmen spirit and make their family and the country proud. On the occasion he also donated free sports equipment to the youths.

SAFE DRINKING WATER SUPPLY TO THE PUBLIC

During the hot summer a huge water crisis occurred in all over the South Andaman Islands due to the shortage of rainfall. People were suffering a lot in South Andaman due to the basic need of water to live. Several telephonic calls were made to TSG Foundation from villages and city residents and requested for water. TSG Foundation with its water tanker immediately responded and supplied water to all the required families and provided water at even difficult area with the commitment of ensuring safe and clean drinking water. TSG Foundation came as a saviour and dispensed off 1.2 lakh litres of water on per day basis which motivated many social workers to come forward for the cause.
